edIT, producer, DJ, and founding member of The Glitch Mob, performed in the center of the room rather than on a stage, and asked for a lighting and visual design that worked from every angle.

I built the show around a transparent projection screen, an LED wall, DMX-controlled LED tubes, and a handheld camera, so light and image surrounded the audience in every direction. The balance mattered as much as the spectacle. Enough to immerse the room, not so much that people stopped dancing and started watching.

The night ran as one arc of creation and destruction: buildings planned, built, lived in, and torn down.

DMX control was built in TouchDesigner, which let the camera feed drive the LED tubes directly. That same feed ran through POPs as a particle simulation, producing a ghosting effect that carried the final stretch of the set.

The entire performance was done in TouchDesigner.
