When Zack Kasten of Handsmade approached us for help with a music video for Doseone, it was hard to refuse. For this project, Zack envisoned a stylized sun at the climax of the music video, where the artist tosses his cellphone into the void of outer space.

To achieve this, we explored a mix of volumetric lighting and dynamic particle systems, simulating the sun’s magnetic fields, and provided many different stylized options. The goal was to balance artistic flair with cosmic realism, so we developed multiple stylistic approaches, from painterly, textured looks to high-energy plasma simulations, before refining the final effect.
